Alain Gilles

Alain Gilles, born in 1970 in Brussels, is a renowned Belgian designer. After studying political science and marketing management, Gilles worked for five years in the international financial world. However, he maintains that one must live life to the full and achieve goals that are uniquely his own, so thanks to the moral support of his wife, he returned to study industrial design in France. In late 2007, he opened his own studio to develop his personal approach to product design, furniture design, art direction and set design. Since then, he has started working with several international companies such as Qui est Paul?, Galerie Gosserez Paris, Magnitude, O'Sun, La Chance, Evolution, Buzzispace, Casamania and Bonaldo. Several of his products have been awarded international prizes such as the Henry Van De Velde Label, the Design for Asia Golden Award, the "Red Dot Best of the Best" for the Welded table and the Good Design award for the Big Table. In 2012 he was named Designer of the Year at the prestigious Interieur Kortrijk trade fair. He has immortalised his skills, for example, in the LINK collection for Varaschin.
