Andrea Anastasio

Andrea Anastasio is an Italian designer and philosopher who is constantly inspired by different cultures. After studying philosophy in Venice, Anastasio undertook a research trip to India, where he spent 11 years of his life. On this trip he gathered numerous experiences in the fields of art, music, theology and theatre, which later translated in abstract form into his designs and work in the museum. Anastasio was also a member of the Memphis Group, a team of Italian designers and architects who in the 1980s created groundbreaking products that defied conventional ideas of shapes, colours, textures and patterns. Andrea Anastasio, who has always been fascinated by conceptual art and interested in industrial design, and today designs furniture, lighting and other furnishings for prestigious manufacturers such as Foscarini, which has also received international recognition.
