DECHEM Studio
Michaela Tomišková and Jakub Janďourek are designers focusing on Czech glass. They design, produce and sell collections of lighting and decorative glass products. They produce unique lighting fixtures made from a combination of blown glass and handmade brass. Their glamorous chandeliers light up a space with a playful yet elegant look. A significant part of their work is blowing the glass into a color gradient. Inspired by the traditional milk jugs that are well known in Bohemian village households, their elegant lines are now coming to modern homes in the form of glass vases and lights. In addition to their regular production, they like to design bespoke lighting objects for interiors. They are created by experimenting with unusual materials and unusual combinations. They have collaborated with renowned galleries and institutions and have exhibited projects in Milan, London, Frankfurt, Istanbul and several other cities around the world. All of their creations are made with care in Czech workshops using unique methods including blowing, clicking, cutting, grinding, firing, engraving and painting on glass. They founded Studio DECHEM in Prague in 2012 as partners in work and life after years of studying glass craft and design. Their products can be found in Bomma's collections.
