Enzo Berti
Berti was born in Venice in 1950 and has always been interested in art. His passion for form and colour was manifested and strengthened by studying under Alberto Viani at the prestigious Academy of Fine Arts in Venice. In the mid-1970s he actively participated in the first advanced course in industrial design sponsored by the Faculty of Architecture. Constant contact with masters in the field enriched him in many ways and helped him define himself as a designer. In the years that followed, he emerged as a designer with considerable creative ability and aesthetic sensitivity: for him, projects are never the result of mere intuition, but a perfect synthesis of form, function, technique and the exaltation of the expressive powers of materials.
The pursuit of simplification, as well as the selection and definition of the details of the project, define his way of designing: the objects are the result of a creative process, a design with clean lines, strong and always in the context of the current socio-political moment, without forgetting the historical and geographical components. In this way, objects are created that are strong, somewhat traditional, yet stimulating, almost unconsciously, to improve the ability to see things correctly around us. He has put this philosophy into his collections STILO for Cantarutti and HEXA for Saba, for example.
