Huub Ubbens

Huub Ubbens was born in October 1964 in the Netherlands, where he studied at the Rietveld Academy of Art in Amsterdam. In 1993 he moved to Milan, where he worked with various designers such as Marco Ferreri, Andrea Branzi and Claudio La Viola. Among other things, he worked for Artemide as head of the design department, and was also artistic director of Danese-Milano.

In 2005 Ubbens founded his own design studio in Milan, Huub Ubbens, where he strives to design original and timeless products. His main inspiration in design comes from street anthropology, transculturation and the art world. He works mainly in the fields of furniture, lighting and wellbeing. The studio provides product design, art direction and lighting design services, accompanying clients from concept to production.
