Jarosław Szymanski

Jarosław Szymanski was born in 1963 in Rypin, Poland. A graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk, he graduated in 1991 from the Faculty of Architecture and Design under Professor Jacek Popek and now teaches at the Faculty himself. In his academic career he was the Vice-Rector for Education and Student Affairs at the Gdańsk Academy of Fine Arts. In 2001, he founded the design office STUDIO 1:1 with his wife Beata Szymańska, where together with other designers he carries out projects in the field of industrial design and architecture. He has won many awards in international and national competitions.

Szymanski also collaborates with Profim, for which he designed the Sorriso collection of armchairs. The distinguishing feature of these chairs is the elegant oval shape of the body with distinctive and precise stitching.
