Johan Ridderstråle and Mats Broberg

Mats Broberg and Johan Ridderstråle are creative colleagues working in a mixed architecture and design practice in Stockholm, Sweden. They strive to add emotional value to design that communicates with the user through the recognition of symbols and meanings. They often draw inspiration from everyday life and try to combine a rational approach with a bit of wit and a clash of past and present.

Since graduating from the University of Arts, Crafts and Design in Stockholm, Broberg & Ridderstråle have won several design awards for their work. These include the Wallpaper Design Award, Elle Interior Design Prize, Good Design Award, Residence magazine's Designer of the Year and more. They have collaborated with many major companies such as Offecct, for whom they designed the LITE and MARKELIUS collections, among others.
