Johannes Steinbauer
Johannes Steinbauer comes from a family of carpenters. As a result, he was close to designing, creating and designing from an early age, so it is not surprising that this is the industry he started to pursue in his life. After training as a master craftsman, he studied industrial design at the Hochschule für Gestaltung in Schwäbisch-Gmünd. He learned precision and patience while working on small series of Art Nouveau furniture at the Finnish company Tetrimäki Furniture Vision. In 2011-2012 he worked on projects for international clients at Studio Neuland in Munich, among others for Nils Holger Moorman, MDF-Italia and Bulthaup.
In 2012 he founded his design office Johannes Steinbauer Office for Design. His office creates furniture, accessories and lighting. Steinbauer approaches his work with intuition and always seeks solutions that lead to a strong, distinctive design language. In his designs, he strives for a streamlined, reduced and almost naive design look. He focuses on detail and precision.
