Mads K. Johansen

Mads K. Johansen grew up in a small Danish village close to the local nature, which was reflected in his preference for natural materials. He worked for many years as an artistic cabinetmaker, but also made a living as a carpenter and even a furniture salesman. He studied at the Danish Design School and has worked as a designer in various parts of the world - from Dallas in the US, to Munich, to Oslo in Norway. Since graduating in 2009, he has worked for several well-known companies and has received numerous international awards and grants.

He died on November 14, 2014 after a long and serious illness, which he fought until his last moments also by constantly designing new products. One of the companies for which he created the perfect collection of seating furniture is the Czech company Ton.
