Mathias Hahn

German designer Mathias Hahn works and lives in London, where he founded Mathias Hahn Design Studio in 2006. He has a degree in Industrial Design from the University of Essen, Germany, and also studied Design Products at the Royal College of Art in London under Ron Arad. His work is characterised by an intense exploration of possible materials and manufacturing processes, and his human-centred approach considers design as a 'cultural tool', always striving to create relevant objects and stories in the context of lived reality.

His studio produces diverse product and furniture design projects that range from industrial design, product development and art direction to experimental design, one-off production, interiors and exhibitions. Mathias Hahn's work has been exhibited internationally, is represented in permanent museum collections and has won numerous international awards.
