Michael Young

Michael Young was born in 1966 in Sunderland, a small industrial city in the North East of England. He graduated from Kingston University in 1992 and the following year founded Michael Young Studio with the aim of providing an exclusive, quality design service across a wide range of markets. Michael Young quickly became one of the most sought-after young designers and major retailers and institutions such as the Conran store and the Pompidou Centre began to request his work. He became known in his field as a refined minimalist, recognized for his sleek, aesthetic design that was in direct contrast to his sophisticated style. After nearly a decade of working in the UK and Iceland, Young was lured to Asia because of his passion for pioneering technology, and in 2006 he set up a studio in Hong Kong. Today, Michael Young Studio is considered one of the most impressive design companies operating in Asia.

Over the past 20 years, Michael Young has established himself as one of the leading international figures in his field.
