Olgoj Chorchoj
The architectural and design studio Olgoj Chorchoj, formed by the duo Michal Froněk and Jan Němeček, was founded in 1990 during a workshop at the Vitra Design Museum. From the very beginning, the studio has had a very broad scope, ranging from glass vases, porcelain sets and titanium jewellery to interior design and reconstruction of historical buildings and industrial buildings. They are also dedicated to finding traditional Czech manufacturers using interesting crafts and technologies and then trying to establish cooperation with them. This process has resulted in numerous awards, most recently the Czech Grand Design Award for the TIM collection of lamps and hatches for the Bomma brand or the Red Dot Award for the creation of the Pocket pocket knife collection for the Mikov brand.
They exhibit frequently at home and abroad - for example at Moss Gallery, Radio House and Totem in New York, Vessel in London, regularly at the Salone del Mobile in Milan, and are represented in private collections and major museums. They both head the Product Design Studio at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague.
