Patrick Jouin
Patrick Jouin was born in Nantes, France in 1967. After graduating from the École Nationale de la Création Industrielle (ENSCI) in 1992, he began designing for Thomson Multimedia under the artistic direction of Philippe Starck. He collaborated with Alain Ducasse in the design of many restaurants such as Alain Ducasse au "Plaza Athénée" and "Be boulangerie-epicerie" in Paris. He is a designer whose creativity finds expression in industrial design for the decorative arts.
Many of his creations are in the permanent collections of museums around the world, including the "Solid" collection at MOMA, which is made with 3D printing technology. Patrick Jouin is also involved in interior design projects with his partner Sanjit Manku as part of the Jouin Manku agency founded in 2006. His unique style in seating furniture can be clearly seen in the pieces he has created for the Italian company Pedrali.
