Rodolfo Bonetto
Born in Milan in 1929,Rodolfo Bonetto left a successful career as a jazz drummer to pursue a career as a designer. He set up his own company in 1958 and in the following years worked in many industries from designing machine tools to clocks, lamps, ski boots, surgical lasers and automobiles. As a self-taught designer, he was so intensely focused on design practice that he made a significant contribution to the teaching of industrial design at the Hochschule für Gestaltung in Ulm and later at Isia in Rome. He was awarded eight golden compasses, the last of which he received for his own professional career.
