Shin Azumi

Shin Azumi was born in 1965 in Kobe, Japan and currently lives in London. After completing his MA at the Royal College of Art in London in 1994, he began working as AZUMI's design unit. In 2005, he founded his own design office "a studio" which works with international clients such as Lapalma, Magis, Desalto, Fredericia, Tefal and many more.

Shin Azumi's work has won numerous design awards in Europe and Japan, including FX International Design Award "Product of the Year", V&A Homes & Gardens Classic Design Award and Good Design Award Best one hundred. His work is included in the collections of many museums including the Victoria & Albert Museum, Stedelijk Museum and others. He is a visiting professor at Osaka University of the Arts and Kobe Design University and a lecturer at Vitra Design Museum Workshops. One of the most original collections he has put his artistic talent into is KAI, which he created for Lapalma.
