Thomas Heatherwick
Thomas Heatherwick is the British designer behind some of the world's most pioneering landmarks. His prolific and varied work over two decades is characterised by ingenuity and originality. Defying the conventional classification of design disciplines, Thomas founded Studio Heatherwick in 1994, bringing together the practices of design, architecture and urbanism into one working space. Thomas leads the design of all Heatherwick Studio projects and works in collaboration with a team of 200 highly skilled architects, designers and makers.
Heatherwick Studio has won numerous design competitions including the Learning Hub at Singapore's Nanyang Technological University, worked on the design of Google's new campuses in London and California in collaboration with BIG on the design of Singapore Changi Airport's new terminal in collaboration with KPF. Thomas was made a Member of the Order of the British Empire, a Royal Academician and in 2004 became the youngest Royal Designer for Industry.
