Thomas Pedersen
Thomas Pedersen graduated from the Aarhus School of Architecture in Denmark in 2002 and later that year founded the design studio SPARK. Pedersen's design is typically Danish with a clear emphasis on simplicity. He combines classic organic lines with innovative ideas and details. Much of his fascination with furniture design comes from the fact that it is possible to create full-scale models of the concepts he has in his head - which is not entirely possible with architecture, for example.
Pedersen's role models in this regard include Charles and Ray Eames, whose work in furniture design has always been devoted to ergonomic and comfortable adaptation to the human body. Over the years, Thomas Pedersen has won numerous awards for his designs. He is best known for his Stingray chair, which he designed as his graduation project in Aarhus. In the field of interior design, he works very closely with Infiniti and Houe Denmark.
