Tomek Rygalik
Tomek Rygalik was born in 1976 in Lodz. He studied Architecture and Urban Planning at the Łódź Polytechnic and Industrial Design at the Pratt Institute in New York (BA/Hons). After his studies he worked for design firms in New York; his clients included companies such as Kodak, Polaroid, MTV, PerkinElmer, Dentsply, Unilever and DuPont etc. In 2003, he started postgraduate studies at the Royal College of Art in London (MA), where he became a research fellow after receiving his diploma. Currently, Studio Rygalik is located in Warsaw and Tomek heads the design studio at the Faculty of Design of the Academy of Fine Arts (PG13). He is also the artistic director of Comforta - a leading Polish furniture brand. He also collaborates with Profim, for which he created the WALL IN collection, and with the Polish company NOTI. For them he created iconic products such as the SHIELDON chair and the SOUNDROOM, TULLI and MAMU collections.
