Toshiyuki Yoshino
Toshiyuki Yoshino was born in 1959 in Yokohama, Japan. He studied creative arts at the Faculty of Performing Arts at Tokyo State University and then in Gmünd, Austria. He then decided to live and work in Europe - so in 1993 he settled in Milan, where he also founded his own studio with the straightforward name "Studio Yoshino". From there it was only a short step to creating his own brand of designer furniture.
The work of this designer, whose career has been linked to Italian brands such as Bonaldo and Bontempi, was deeply influenced by his Asian origins and his subsequent encounters with American artists Frank Lloyd Right, Georgia O'keeffe and Ansel Adams. "I have always tried to follow the laws of nature in a world full of geometric patterns," explains Toshiyuki Yoshino. "Based on these experiences, I later understood that only morphology, linked to mathematical harmony, can liberate us and reconnect us with nature. Only in this way can we express our inner emotions through curves and lines." The company and its founder are now based in Tokyo, where they create iconic pieces for modern interiors, favourites such as dining tables. In our catalogue you will find the LUNA BIANCA model for Bonaldo. Thanks to its minimalist character, Yoshino furniture stands out for its practical size and multifunctional use.
