Wielgus & Plecháč
Jan Plecháč and Henry Wielgus are a pair of Czech designers who met while studying at the Academy of Arts and Design, where they also collaborated for the first time. In 2011 they founded their joint design studio. The Wielgus & Plecháč studio quickly gained fame thanks to many international exhibitions and awards, such as the Czech Grand Design and Elle Deco International Design Award.
They designed the Stick System variable shelving system for the Danish company Menu. They had in mind the needs of young people, who can easily adapt the shape and size of the shelving system to their liking. They paid particular attention to the details. Their portfolio also includes Lantern luminaires, which they designed for the Bomma brand. The lights in this collection are based on the traditional paper lanterns, but the design duo have replaced paper with glass. And it comes in several variations, such as clear, white or smoke.
