Vincent Van Duysen


Vincent Van Duysen was born in Lokeren, Belgium in 1962. He founded Vincent Van Duysen Architects in 1989 and has received numerous awards throughout his career, including the Flemish Cultural Design Award, Belgian Designer of the Year, the Henry van de Velde Lifetime Achievement Award and the EDIDA Award for Best Interior Designer of the Year. His name has also been included several times in the Architectural Digest network's AD100 survey and Elle Decor A-List. His work has also been featured in many prestigious international publications for many years.


Duysen's relationship with architecture, interior and product design has been the driving force behind project concepts from the beginning, inspired by the transitions between these disciplines and combined with an approach to spatial design. Duysen's use of clean and tactile materials translates into a modern and timeless design. Vincent Van Duysen's approach works with a tradition in which the senses and physical experience, textures and light bring the integrity of the user to the fore. Functionality, durability and comfort are the hallmarks of his work and an architectural language that is not afraid to convey aesthetics.
