Edward Barber & Jay Osgerby

Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby founded their studio in London in 1996 after studying architecture together at the Royal College of Art. Their approach is characterised by an emphasis on experimentation and innovation with an exploratory approach to materials and colour. The strength of Barber and Osgerby's creative partnership has led to collaborations with some of the world's most progressive companies. In addition, they have received many professional awards such as the Jerwood Award and Royal Designers for Industry status. They have been appointed to the Order of the British Empire for services to the design industry and in 2015 were awarded the London Design Medal.

In 2001 they founded Universal Design Studio, which runs alongside their primary studio. Focusing on architecture, interiors and exhibition design, the studio is now recognised as one of the world's most innovative creative design consultancies. In 2012, the Barber Osgerby family of studios was expanded again with the launch of Map Project Office, a strategy-based industrial design consultancy.
