Giulia Pretti

Giulia Pretti studied furniture design at the Politecnico di Milano and specialised in industrial design. In 2008 she participated in the "Torino World Design Capital" project in a workshop called "Designing Connected places", where she experienced working with people from all over the world. Thanks to an exchange programme in Sweden, she was able to exhibit her project "Ulla" at the Stockholm Furniture Fair. After several internships in the USA, she became a junior designer at De Vecchi 1935 and is now an assistant designer for Adidas.

In her projects she always tries to combine the aesthetic aspect with innovation and functionality. This is one of the reasons why she has collaborated with Progetti, for whom she designed the Fido cuckoo clock, which is imaginative and unusual. Instead of placing the cuckoo clock on the wall, she placed it on the bedside table and added a distinctive dial and a modern, unusual design.
