Why do we have a minimum order value of 400 euros?
The ALAX e-shop has been in operation for more than 10 years and during that time we have processed tens of thousands of orders. Although we are primarily a project company with a 30-year history, the e-shop has become a powerful tool for people to find us and get to know our offer. But more and more, we found that small orders were taking away from the capacity we wanted to dedicate to people and companies with a real purpose. That's why we decided to introduce a minimum order value of 400 euros excluding VAT.
We do this so we can be better
1. We are a design company, not a warehouse
Most of the furniture is made to order. We stock goods only on the basis of a specific demand, often from abroad - we cannot operate as a regular e-shop with next day shipping.
2. Small orders are often a loss - For example, an order for 40 euros
- we often have to meet volume limits of producers (e.g. EUR 1 000-2 000),
- we subsidise transport and administration,
- we can't keep up with customers with bigger projects.
3. We want to have the capacity to do things that make sense by putting a cap in place:
- we'll increase the quality of service because the team won't be overwhelmed,
- we can offer a wider portfolio of products and brands,
- we can devote our full attention to the people who work with us on their space - from architectural design to implementation.

What if you just need a small addition?
We understand that sometimes it really is just about one chair or table. Drop us a line - if it's part of a project, we'll be happy to make an exception or recommend a different approach. But as part of the standard e-shop purchasing process, there is a limit of 400 euros excluding VAT.
