Studio DECHEM: Contemporary design and traditional craftsmanship
Founded in 2012 by Michaela Tomišková and Jakub Janďourek, the Czech design studio has quickly gained international recognition for its sensitive work with glass. Studio DECHEM builds its work on respect for traditional Czech glass craftsmanship, which it transforms into works of art with a contemporary aesthetic. The handmade craftsmanship and perfection of every detail is reflected in every product, whether it is a lamp, a vase or an interior accessory.

Glass as a medium of emotions and stories
Both designers see glass not only as a sustainable technical material, but also as a medium that projects emotions and tells stories. They combine blown glass with handmade brass, one of their hallmarks being the blowing of glass into a gradient of colour. All creations are made exclusively in Czech workshops using unique methods. They draw inspiration from tradition and history - for example, the elegant Bandaska vase is based on a village milk jug. Studio DECHEM also gives room for experimentation and often creates unconventional lighting objects tailored to interiors.

Cooperation with Bomma
The combination of craftsmanship, minimalist expression and modern forms also permeates several collections of lamps for the famous Bomma brand. The PHENOMENA range was inspired by basic geometric shapes. The pendant and floor lamps stand out with their strong but subtle silhouette. The UMBRA lamp, on the other hand, symbolises the shadow cast by a spherical shade - an elliptical metal plate embodies this poetics. All the luminaires bring sparkle, subtlety and stories of the tradition of glass craft to private and commercial spaces.
