Büro für Form

Designer Constantin Wortmann was born in 1970 in Munich. In 1995-98 he gained some of his first work experience in Ingo Maurer's team. He received his diploma in industrial design from the University of Design Hamburg & Munich in 1998 and founded the design studio Büro für Form in Munich together with Benjamin Hopf a year later. The main focus of Büro für Form was product, interior and lighting design for international manufacturers.

In 2000 Büro für Form made its debut in Milan at the Salone Satellite and started working with Habitat, Fingermax, Flötotto and Serien Lighting. In the following years, the studio went on to exhibit designs in Milan, Cologne and New York. Since 2004 Büro für Form has collaborated with OSRAM and worked on future concepts with new lighting technologies (Planon, LED, Oled). In the same year, free design projects for the own brand Items by Büro für Form also began. Benjamin Hopf later left the studio and Büro für Form was taken over exclusively by Constantin Wortmann. Constantin likes to add something unexpected to his designs and play with customer habits. He defines his mission as "products need more than just perfect functionality and ergonomics, they also need a bit of poetry." Some of the most interesting products Wortmann has designed include the unconventional BIJOUX lamps he created in collaboration with Slide.
