Carlo Bartoli

After studying architecture, Milan-born Carlo Bartoli founded his own family studio, Bartoli Design, in 1959 . Over the years, his work has spanned architecture, interior and industrial design. His elegant handwriting, full of practical and design elements, has been inscribed in the designs of big-name companies. Among the most important collaborations is the Kartell brand, for which he designed a chair made entirely of polypropylene, the first of its kind. Model 4875 is on display at the Musée National d'Art Moderne at the Centre Pompidou in Paris.

He has also contributed significantly to the portfolio of other companies such as Bonaldo, Segis, Colombo Design, Fiam Italia and many others. He has been rewarded with many prestigious design awards such as the Red Dot Design Award, the Compasso d'Oro and the Good Design Award. In addition to furniture, he has designed luxury interiors in Japan and Italy, worked on planning and redevelopment projects for urban centres in Lombardy, lectured at the University of Florence and has been invited countless times to international exhibitions around the world.
