Gio Ponti

Gio Ponti was an Italian designer, architect, editor and one of the most influential design visionaries of the 20th century. In 1927 he founded his own architectural firm and in the same year he founded the Labirinto group, which was dedicated to the production of high-quality furniture. In addition, he was the artistic director of Richard Ginorio's porcelain factory and founded the art and architecture magazine Domus, which he ran intermittently until his death in 1979.

Ponti made an all-round and significant contribution to the revival of Italian furniture production and industry, including pedagogically. During his career he designed a wide range of buildings, furniture and products, from cabinets, lamps and chairs to ceramics and glass.
