The magic of tubular steel
The S 285 writing desk, designed by Marcel Breuer in 1935, is a perfect example of the main vision of the Bauhaus movement: to combine art and technology into one functional whole. In it, Breuer combined his knowledge of bent tubular steel with the craft of joinery. The result is an elegant table in which a chrome-plated or lacquered steel structure and a top made of beech, oak, ash or walnut wood in a variety of finishes play a central role. The design also includes a levitating piece with three wooden drawers in right or left-handed versions. Felt or synthetic glides can be purchased to protect the floor. The perfect piece for a timeless den or office! The S 285 is also available in a version without drawers.
