Bisley is Europe's largest manufacturer of metal office furniture. Bisley furniture offers professional, individual and inimitable solutions for all types of interiors, and is also very high quality and reliable. The company originally operated as an auto body repair shop, but then received its first ever offer to manufacture a metal wastebasket, which led Bisley to stop repairing cars altogether in the early 1960's and turn its full attention to the manufacture of office furniture. Bisley now has a factory in Wales where it produces over 15,000 items per week. Bisley products are available in over 50 countries worldwide. Shockingly, up to 48% of UK offices are fitted with Bisley metal furniture, the company has supplied its furniture to companies such as Direct Line, the BBC and PwC.

Bisley brand history

Founded in 1931 by Freddie Brown, this British company first operated as a car body repair firm, and during the Second World War, it took on wartime commissions, primarily the manufacture of canisters. After the war, in 1946, the company received its first contract to manufacture steel paper wastepaper baskets, and this is where modern history begins to be made. In the early 1960s, the company stopped repairing cars altogether and began to devote itself entirely to the manufacture of office furniture.

In 2015 Bisley was awarded the Manufacturing Guild Mark, a highly prestigious award that recognises excellence in design and sustainability in manufacturing. It guarantees that furniture is made with care and commits the British manufacturer to high standards throughout the business. Bisley is an environmentally responsible company and therefore minimises the adverse effects of production in the way it conducts its business.
