The young Italian company COLOS was founded in 2013. It was founded by Cerantola SPA with the ambition to conceive and develop affordable and quality products that draw on the heritage of Italian know-how and 21st century technology. COLOS produces ethical, durable and affordable furniture for catering establishments, homes and public spaces. The company's production focuses on aesthetic harmony, shape, function, strength and material efficiency. In addition, COLOS also cares a great deal about the technology and optimisation of the production process. Production takes place exclusively in Italy, specifically in the factories near Loria.
Introducing the COLOS collections
The first ever Colos sofa collection - VESPER - was presented in Milan in 2014 at the Salone del Mobile together with the STATO tables. The following year, this young expanding company introduced the MOMO collection of chairs , which are also suitable for outdoor environments. Other products worth mentioning are: the PIAZZA plastic chair , SPLIT or the relatively new STECCA collection, which was the first collection made of aluminium.
VESPER is a collection of chairs, armchairs and stools with polypropylene fibreglass shells and metal frames. The entire collection consists of stackable pieces suitable for indoors and outdoors. The aim of creating this collection was to offer products deliberately limited to just a few basic models that are suitable not only for catering facilities, but also for any other environment thanks to the versatility of the basic design and the range of colour combinations.
Round bar table STATO stands on an elegant metal shank made of strong cast iron, which gives the table the right stability and can bear a wide range of finishes. The Stato table is available in two different height options, so it can be combined almost universally with chairs or bar stools. The table is extremely suitable for furnishing bars, bistros and restaurants, thanks to its special base it can easily fit on any kind of chairs and bar stools.
At first glance it looks PIAZZA It looks familiar, reminiscent of the vintage café chairs of the 1920s, which were actually its model. However, it surpasses its wooden ancestors in versatility. The Piazza is made from a single piece of plastic and can withstand the wind and all weather. It is available in a subtle colour scheme that matches both old and new styles.
Collection SPLIT definitely deserves a closer look: the chair has several original and innovative lines, its other qualities can be felt as soon as you sit on it. The chair frame and shell are composed of synthetic materials with different parts of fibreglass. This provides both stability for the legs and a flexible seat. The use of materials has been kept to a minimum, giving the SPLIT chair a physical and visual lightness.
STECCA is not a collection of chairs with catchy flowing shapes reminiscent of bentwood chairs. All STECCA chairs are made of lightweight aluminium and designed for versatile use. What makes them even more practical is that they can be used outdoors. No matter where you encounter a STECCA chair, its relaxed and warm design will always charm you and invite you to a wonderful get-together.
Young designers at COLOS
All the projects are the work of young designers from different nations, who have been given the opportunity by Colos to show what they have and to break into the world of Italian industry. The combination of the original designs and research of the designers and the great industrial experience of Colos results in quality and elegant products that are developed within an optimised production process. Production takes place exclusively in the company's factories in Loria, Italy. In this way, Colos can ensure the quality of its products and the working conditions of its employees.
