Václav Mlynář

Designer, creative director and founder of his own Prague studio, Václav Mlynář, is one of the most prominent personalities of the contemporary Czech scene. He gained his experience in prestigious studios in the USA, Denmark and London, where he also obtained a master's degree from the prestigious Royal College of Art. This global background is reflected in his ability to combine local craftsmanship with global trends and a progressive approach to materials.

Václav leaves a major mark on Czech glassmaking. Since 2017, he has been the creative director of the Bomma glassworks. In this role, he curates new collections, seeks out strategic collaborations and, together with his team, sets the direction in which this progressive brand is heading. Under his leadership, Bomma has become synonymous with bold and technically precise design, garnering acclaim around the world. He has designed the AMA, MUSSELS, BUOY, STELLAR DUST and OLLO collections for the company.

In addition, he has been leading his own projects under the banner of the VM product studio and the MONUMENT Office spatial architecture studio. His work ranges from small objects to complex architectural solutions that always carry a strong visual concept. In addition, he has been passing on his know-how as a teacher at NC State University since 2019.
