Arrmet has been operating since the 1960s in the Italian district of Manzano. While the typical chairs were made of wood, Arrmet focused on creating metal structures, which is why today the company mainly focuses on production for community environments - such as schools, libraries or shopping centres. Today, Arrmet produces chairs characterised by original design, high quality, functionality and variety to meet the needs of as many customers as possible in Italy and abroad.

History of the Arrmet brand

Sixties. Enthusiastic expansion business. 1960s

Arrmet was founded in Gorizia and produced metal furniture for municipal use.|

From the very beginning, Arrmet products expressed curiosity and a desire to experiment. The years of our first experience were marked by the metal with which the company started. The first destination for the furniture was school classrooms, but it was already clear that Arrmet was going much further. The company's industrial approach allowed it to enter an unexpected sector - the marine sector, where metal was preferred as a modern and reliable material.

The 1970s and 1980s. In the middle of the world. 1975

The company moves to Manzano, an international centre for chair manufacturing.

Today, Manzano is considered the "capital of chair manufacturing", this because it has been the centre of a process of unrivalled industrial development for more than thirty years. The avant-garde vision of the founders of Arrmet was at the beginning, which led them to move their company to Manzano, where it is still based today, and to involve designers in the creation of their products. It was a great commercial success - while others were making chairs out of wood, Arrmet was making metal chairs. Originality simply pays off.

1985 | Arrmet in the world: Europe, the United States and Saudi Arabia.

Arrmet participated in the Milan Furniture Fair every year. This enabled the manufacturers to keep up with contemporary design trends, but also to expand their products from Italy to Europe and then to the rest of the world. Sales increased, the range of products expanded and production changes had to be made to respond to the sudden increase in demand, especially optimisation and industrialisation.

The 1990s. In love with the present. 1990.

| The use of plastic in all shades of the rainbow.

In the 1990s, the brand started to play with plastic materials. Arrmet came up with one new product after another and always surprised with something new. He always moved with the times, creating products for interiors and exteriors in metal and plastic that were a triumph of colour and imagination.

1997 | Pocket: the chair, marked the revolution of folding seats.

Pocket is a chair that takes up just two centimetres when closed. This small space encapsulates all the company's tradition, experience and passion for design. Compact, functional, revolutionary, the Pocket chair has a locking system made of glass fibre reinforced polypropylene developed in its own research and development laboratory.

21st century. A dream becomes a reality. 2004

| Closer to nature and outdoor enthusiasm.

Arrmet has never been short of two things: a desire to experiment and a clear vision of what people want. And so in 2004 he began to focus on designing and manufacturing tables and chairs for outdoor use. Here, once again, research was combined with years of experience and a commitment to his clients, and Arrmet rose to the occasion and brought his first collection of outdoor furniture into the world.

2012 | New moods, new interests. Time to venture into textiles and wood.

Although steel was retained as the basic production material, Arrmet also started to introduce other materials and completely new concepts. These developments fitted perfectly into the already established know-how, which is based on craftsmanship and industrialisation and ultimately produces a quality Italian product appreciated worldwide. Once everything was in place, the dialogues with architects and interior designers could begin, giving rise to new designs.

2013 | Strike - one of the greatest success stories.

Chicago, Toronto, London, Milan, Johannesburg, Sydney, Seoul. This is just a small list of the cities in which the Strike chair has shone. This iconic and discreetly elegant chair interprets traditional style in a modern language. Strike is a top product, a dream that has become a reality and a worldwide hit.
