Designed by Industrial Facility (Sam Hecht and Kim Colin) for the Thonet brand,the S 220 bar stool is inspired by the iconic lines of the classic 214 and 209 models. The result is a material-saving, lightweight and stackable chair that takes the technical possibilities of pressed plywood to a new level. The chair's shaped backrest gently cradles your back and the upholstered seat offers even more comfort. Choose from a wide range of fabrics and leathers, including the option to supply your own material. The plywood shell is available in oak, walnut or beech in a variety of finishes. Durable and lightweight steel tube construction is available in painted or chrome finish. The base can be fitted with glides to protect the floor. Thanks to its understated organic shape, precise lines and high variability, the entire collection is perfectly suited for private dining rooms, home offices, modern cafés and large commercial projects and office spaces.
High or low bar stool? Which is the right one?
High bar stools are mainly used in restaurants, bars, bistros and other eating establishments. It is characterised by a seat height of around 75 cm. For a high bar stool, it is recommended to have a bar top between 110 and 115 cm high.
The low or also kitchen bar stool is most commonly used for home kitchen bars and islands. Its seat height is around 65 cm. The recommended height of the bar top is then between 91 - 95 cm.
