Danish designer Philip Bro drew inspiration for the Moai chair from the famous statues of Easter Island, which this piece resembles both in profile and in name. The chair’s tall, rounded shell provides privacy and was originally inspired by the shape of pebbles on the seashore, perfectly smoothed by the never-ending work and power of the ocean waves. This unique piece has earned the 2017 Good Design Award and the 2018 German Design Award. The swivel base is available in a black lacquered finish or polished chrome. The armchair is fully upholstered, and the inner foam is specially treated for enhanced fire resistance. The range of upholstery colors and materials is very wide, including the option to supply your own fabric. The practical removable cover is dry-cleanable.
